Home Play: A Look at Podar Prep’s New Approach to Learning

Podar Prep has a unique approach integrated into the curriculum – Home Play, instead of traditional homework. We follow the Philosophy of Kiducation, which means that our education is designed from the child’s point of view. We understand that young children might find it difficult to grasp the concept of “work” in the context of homework, which is why we’ve decided to shift the focus towards play.

Think about it: when a child hears the word “homework,” they often wonder, “Why am I working at home?” We want to change that perception and make learning a joyful and engaging experience. That’s where Home Play comes in!

Home Play provides children with the opportunity to explore and reinforce the concepts they’ve learned in the classroom while playing with their family members. This way, children can revisit these concepts in a fun, relaxed environment and even showcase their newfound knowledge to their family members.

We want parents to understand that Home Play is all about boosting the child’s self-esteem, confidence, and interest in learning. We also believe that involving parents and family members in the learning process makes it more meaningful and effective. Through Home Play, we encourage parents to actively participate in their child’s learning journey. This not only strengthens the bond between parents and children but also helps children grasp concepts better.

The kind of activities Podar Prep will give your child for Home Play!

  1. Picture Talk: This activity engages the child by having them point to images and narrate the events shown in the pictures, fostering their storytelling and communication skills.
  2. Activity Worksheet: This task challenges the child to spot matches or identify the odd one out, helping to develop their observation and problem-solving abilities.
  3. Extra Activities: These can comprise creative tasks like drawing or engaging in a family cooking session, which promotes self-expression and teamwork while building valuable life skills.

Final words!

Our goal at Podar Prep is to make learning an enjoyable and stress-free experience for our students. By replacing homework with Home Play, we hope to inspire a love for learning that lasts a lifetime. Together, let’s build a strong foundation for our children that supports their growth and development, and nurtures their curiosity and creativity. Happy playing!
