Welcome to ‘A Day at Podar Prep: Learning, Playing, and Growing Together’!
Each day at Podar Prep Preschool starts with a Greeting Ritual. We believe a morning greeting can make all the difference, so we offer a variety of greeting rituals for children to choose from as they step into class. This sets a positive tone for the day, making children feel safe, secure, and welcomed.
Our next activity is DAILY 5, a routine where we discuss the weather, day, and date. It’s a wonderful way to start the day, fostering a sense of togetherness and a positive classroom environment.
Play-Explore-Learn also known as Freeplay is an integral part of our day. We dedicate time for children to explore a wide array of toys and learning, all focused on different areas of development as they are integrated with coding and S.T.R.E.A.M principles, enhancing their social skills.
Following this, we gather for Circle Time. It’s a special part of the day when children enhance their communication and language skills through songs, rhymes, and engaging discussions. The energy of collective learning is truly unparalleled.
At Podar Prep, learning is made easy through stories. The teacher introduces numbers or letters in an engaging narrative, using puppets, voice modulation, and teaching aids. Hands-on activities using various resources reinforce these concepts, making them fun and effective.
Our snack time with the Jumbo Snack Menu offers valuable lessons in healthy eating, communication, sharing, and time management. Not just nourishment, it’s a time to experience the simple joys of companionship.
We understand the importance of Transitions between activities for children. We follow the simple system of active followed by passive, standing followed by sitting and vice versa in both formats for supporting children to transit to the next activity with ease and attention.
Our ‘Understanding My World’ segment exposes children to various concepts through interactive stories and open-ended questions. Hands-on activities, picture talks, and flashcards bring these lessons to life, making learning application-based, meaningful, and enjoyable.
Outdoor activities are crucial for a child’s gross motor development. We dedicate time to games and physical activities, guided by our curriculum. The open-air and green spaces add to the joy of learning.
Finally, ‘Reverence’ helps children encapsulate and remember their day’s learning. They recall the day’s activities and express what they loved most. This reflection time helps in absorption and appreciation.
